“As a father pities his children, So the Lord pities those who fear Him. 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. 15 As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more.” ps 103:13-16 nkjv

Have you ever seriously considered the implications of these words? Life is short. At best, the Bible tells us: “The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.” ps 90:10 nkjv

I am 82 years old; many years ago, I used to have an elderly woman in my adult Sunday School class, who would say, “I am now past my warranty period, just living day by day…” She was well aware of how the time-lease of man was established by Yahweh. I think it is a good and comforting thing to walk through life with this amazing understanding… because Yahweh is truly faithful and has not only given us our understanding of this short walk, as a fading flower that is soon to pass away, as the Psalmist notes above, but He makes us aware of our limitations so we can reevaluate our need to make sure He is our source and our only end of life objective for eternal life. And because of His great love for us, He provided Yeshua to gather us in under His plan of redemption, delivering us from the fear of death, hell and the grave. How do you feel about all of this? As for what is next, the writer of Ecclesiastes says this:

“All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust.” Ecc 3:20 nkjv;   AND,   “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.” Ecc 12:7 nkjv

Yes, I am forever grateful that Yahweh knows I am a “frame of dust.” Yet I don’t take that for granted and expect to “grace myself” into a free pass from sin and careless abuse of His mercy and forgiveness, because of His longsuffering and great love for me…

But… [what if] I happen to live until the return of the Messiah Yeshua? Lots of folks in the obituary of our local newspaper live well into their 90’s. Things are really heating up in the world, much of what Yeshua talked about in His Olivet Discourse seems to lie just ahead [mat 24, mark 13, and luk 21].  Will I be able to stand faithful through the difficult challenges of the end of days to come? I believe that it is not my strength and tenacity that will sustain me, but it is His knowing that my dusty frame will need His upkeep… as I get older, it seems my physical man is weaker and my spirit man is stronger [all credit to Yahweh]. I hope this short devotional will cause you older [younger as well] folks to reassess your standing with the Master, considering your time-lease and measuring the things that are important vs the things that are temporal and actually “vanity,” as Solomon writes.

The reason I include this last portion in this devotional is because I recently studied a long report on what the globalist [new world order cabal] is about, and what they are claiming they intend to do, and what its implications are for those of us [especially believers]. Here is a comment from the author:

“Anyone who has ever read the King James Bible can plainly see this has the mark of the beast written all over it. Comments by Fink [BlackRock CEO] – “you and I, will have our own number, our own identification” – are proof of that. I am NOT saying the mark of the beast is here now, nor am I saying it’s coming tomorrow, but clearly the foundation for that system is being laid down right before our very eyes, there is no question.”

How long do you think it will take them to roll out this control and surveillance system… I expect it is much further along than we might think. I think the pressure upon the faithful will be immense. I think our dusty frames will be burdened with difficulties of many types and burdensome pressures to bend or break our faith. If anything is of value, I think it must be evaluated by its agreement and usefulness to the perspective of the Bible. Now is the time to start, or continue, our assessment of our resolve and commitment to the life Yahweh has laid out for us.
