| “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” Col 3:1 KJV |
April 6, 2021 “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:” Ps 23:5 KJV Do you ever feel like the confusion and madness of our chaotic society and it’s ever increasing spiritual darkness is more than you can deal with? Can you imagine it getting even worse? Dr Gavin Finley says that all “spiritual warfare” is an information war… how does that work? I think that because information overload, most of which is disinformation consisting of fabricated, politicized, narrative driven mantras, pounding on our mental capacity... in opposition to what we know is true, moral, and God ordained human norms… can cause us to become weary and mentally tired (a spiritual attack, I think). Such a thing did happen in the Bible, as Peter says about Lot’s experience in Sodom: 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) 2 Pet 2:7-8 KJV King David’s expression of God’s care for believers in his Psalms 23 writing, verse 5 above, is very important to grasp for our own sanity and peace in our insane society, lost from its moral compass. In fact, all of Ps 23 and Ps 91, remind us of the sanctuary God has prepared for believers in their darkest of times. Why are these things as they are? Paul speaks of the spiritually minded, verses the carnal minded man: “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Rom 8:5-7 KJV The song writer wrote, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light or His glory and grace.” We are at war for our sanity… and our very souls. Paul admonishes us to not grow weary in well doing… “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Eph 6:12 KJV Let me encourage you to “fight the good fight,” as Paul admonished Timothy… after all, if we default to our fleshly strength, we will weaken and fall weary. Our King Yeshua (Jesus) has already defeated the real enemy… the battle is in our minds, the war is in the heavenly places, where Yeshua has already overcome the evil one. Our duty is spiritual faithfulness… the loud and distracting sounds of Babylon are intended to throw us off balance and take our focus of faith and thankfulness away from our peaceful abode in the sanctuary God has provided for us. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Isa 26:3 KJV Shalom… John |
