October 4, 2022 As I write this devotional for this week, we are in the days between “Yom Teruah [Trumpets], and Yom Kippur [Day of Atonement]. Yom Teruah is also called Rosh Hashanah in the Jewish community, which you may recognize as more familiar. More specifically, I think Biblically, it is better described as “Feast of Trumpets,” giving us the “Yom Teruah” designation for the day of the “blast/sounding of the trumpet,” as perhaps connected with the return of Yeshua… as many think. The last of the “moedim” [appointed times], is the Feast of Tabernacles [Sukkot]. Sukkot, a 7 + 1 days celebration of Messiah's victorious conclusion of the redemption of man and the “restoration of all things.” It follows five days after the Day of Atonement. It is the final act in the 7-Act Choreographed Divine display of Yahweh's Leviticus Chapter 23 notice to mankind of His plans for humanity and planet earth… following which is the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom and the thousand years reign of King Yeshua the Messiah. These Feast fall each year on the Biblical calendar dates: Tishrei 1 [Yom Teruah], Tishrei 10 [Yom Kippur], and Tishrei 15 [Sukkot]. The 7 Feast of the LORD… are specifically listed and detailed in the Torah, Leviticus exposition in chapter 23. All seven are said to be special sign posts pointing to the plan Yahweh set up to reveal and teach believers the time and seasons in which He executes actions to affect mankind… and certainly as a show and tell demonstration of what He is doing and what He will do… namely, so that all believers will know how to look for His planned return of the Messiah [Yeshua] and the events concerning the end of the age and the restoration of all things. Learning these Biblical “feasts/moedim,” and participating in them is a profound blessing and rewarding experience for all believers. The following short video will give you an overview and fairly good description of the 7 Feast of the Lord… enjoy; The Feasts of the Lord are for our understanding… and when we “practice” them, as in a dressed rehearsal for a theater play, we learn more each year as we embrace them and we become more enlightened as to the times and season of these last days… and it connects to part of what Paul refereed to when he said: “But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.” 1thes 5:4-6 nkjv Shalom… John |
