| And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Gal 6:9 (NKJV) |
Feb 9, 2021 Where dose our strength come from? What is it that wears down our strength, and our commitment to the purpose for which God has ordained us? During the troubling years when Jeremiah the Prophet, under God’s direction, was admonishing rebellious Judah and all Jerusalem, to repent of their idolatry, sinful lifestyles, and wicked ways, because they had broken the covenant He had with them (Jer 11:1-13)… The people sought to kill Jeremiah and end the tormenting truth that brought judgment upon them, which God said, “they had done against themselves.” Jer 11:17. Their solution was to silence “the messenger, Jeremiah,” and even, “to cut down the tree with its fruit, and cut him off from the land of the living so there would be no more remembrance of him.” Jer 11:19. Does that sound familiar? Is this not what the leftists communist are doing as we speak. Christianity and Communism are natural enemies… one cannot thrive if the other dominates. History also tells us that Communism also seeks to destroy Judaism. Both are historic icons of the God of the Bible, and socialism and Communism works diligently and relentlessly to “cut them off from the land of the living.” Jeremiah had grown weary, frustrated, and felt desperation because of the people's insolence and backlash against his preaching and admonishment to return to a just God’s instruction and righteousness… to remember the covenant given them and their fathers. Because of his frustration, in response to him, God said this: “If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, In which you trusted, they wearied you, Then how will you do in the floodplain [thicket] of the Jordan?" Jer 12:5 In a sense, this says, “if you are wearing down in a peaceful place under manageable conflict, how will you fare when things really get difficult and the strength of the opposition is much worse.” It seems that today, at least to me, that everywhere you turn, there is an attack on truth, God’s Word, faithful believers, and any messenger that resists or speaks contrary to the “woke” narrative of the social engineers that are redefining our society… all for the worse, and certainly desecration of the name and person of Christ (the Savior Yeshua of the Bible). I hear fellow believers expressing discouragement because hardly anyone wants to hear the message of the gospel. We are living in a time when we need the work of the “Word of His Power,” and the inspirational life of the Holy Spirit to fill us with new hope and increased faith… for us to be faithful to God’s purpose for us. That is where our strength comes from, from His Word and His Spirit. With so much “Babylonian” babble coming at us from all auditory and visual directions and sources, we must guard against letting our minds and hearts grow fearful and weary. We are in an information war, and we must filter all the demonic sources out of our being by the filtering perfection and cleansing of the truth of God’s Word. It is our strength and fortress into which we must “hold up,” as we re-energize ourselves for battling not only the “footmen” but also the “horsemen” in the flood and thicket that the adversary plans to subdue us in… "While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Cor 4:18 The difficult challenge is to not take our eyes of faith off from the promise of God, “that greater is He who is in us, than he that is in the world.” 1 Jhn 4:4 And finally, the fear of God should overrule our fear of man: "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Mat 10:28 We must remember where our battleground is: “...not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual powers in high places…” Eph 6:12 We are told to pray for one another… that our faith not fail; and to remember that He who is able, will keep us above all and more than we can think or ask. Eph 3:20 Shalom… John |
