| “Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.” Ps 25:1-2 KJV |
March 9, 2021 Around 1050 BC, David recorded these words: Ps 19:7-13 “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. “The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. “The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. “More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. “Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward. “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. “Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.” Ps 19:7-13 KJV According to Paul the Apostle, God Said, “...and I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.” Acts 13:22 KJV In our times, now 2021 AD, even in the midst of sinful and evil works of men, these words are yet true, applicable, and enduring… a moment of honest introspection (for the believer) will witness the reality of the eternal value of seeking God’s will and having an honest and sincere relationship with Him. Having a heart for God draws one to the same sanctuary of peace and gratitude with thankful praise and profession as David expressed. This is because the living Word of God invokes a mysterious manifestation of divine expression flowing out from the life of a “sanctified” faithful believer… invoking the spiritual expression of: “Godly love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance (patience/self-control)...” Paul calls these “the fruit of the Spirit.” Gal 5:22-23 KJV Fruit comes from seed; and according to the law of the harvest, everything produces after its own kind. Yeshua (Jesus) said God’s Word was the “good seed,” (Luk 8:11) and when internalized in our heart and mind, is the Holy Spirit empowered Word that, “will not return void, but will manifest that which God sends it to do.” Isa 55:11 I hope you will take time to slowly examine David’s profession of God’s remarkable and priceless treasure of values and benefits of His provisions for us. Myself, I like to read these aloud and profess them as possessions of my own being… for me, there is no substitute. Shalom… John |
