“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.” ps 119:11 nkjv |
July 1, 2025 Since Word and Yeshua [Jesus] are one and the same, when you think about it, the hidden word you have in your heart is the very person of Yeshua living within you. I know a lot of people have not yet come to understand the importance of knowing that Yeshua is the Word of Yahweh, and the Word of Yahweh is Yeshua… The dynamic of this is utterly profound, as it is written in John chapter 1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it… and then verse 14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” Yahweh, from time immemorial, set up His way of doing things; they are irrevocable, and they are systematically in force and developing His plan continually. That is a mind full to understand. Actually it is a faith thing, as your natural mind will struggle with taking this at full value. Yahweh’s method was/is to first give the natural [as a visual for our understanding] and then the spiritual, which takes a little more to comprehend. Paul writes of this to some extent in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, it is a good place to examine this progression of “natural to spiritual.” When Yahweh founded His nation of Israel, through natural living humanity, His show and tell using Israel and their living experiences and journey, from Abraham’s faith that begot them, to the arrival of Yeshua to manifest their intended purpose, to become a kingdom of priests [spiritual] nation, we can see the example of our “natural” condition that transitions into a “spiritual” people that Peter said were to become a royal priesthood. I am saying all this to discuss a point that seems important to me. Yeshua said His kingdom is not of this world [natural], but was within us, and He talked about the kingdom a great deal in His parables and teachings in the Gospels. To many it was [and yet still is] a difficult mystery. I think it is mainly because we think more in natural terms than in spiritual terms. While we live in a fallen world, with much splashing of corrupt and ungodly doings of wicked and unbelieving men, we can’t help but get some of it on us as we go through this life… but, here is the main message, and I will use Psalms 119 verses, starting with: “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.” And for a detailed look at “cleansing” that God’s Word performs in us, see this [‘popup’ link]. So, let us examine Psalms 119:1-8 closely: “Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law [Torah] of the Lord! Each of these words in bold are specifically defined at this [page link]. Many years ago I committed Psalm 119:1-8, and many other Bible Scriptures to memory. I find that they have a “cleansing” effect upon my thinking and are continually working in my psychic to help me ward off the “splashed on” crud of the world’s hedonistic and pagan people that one can’t avoid. However, the “natural” man must knowingly resist the forces that offend our “spiritual” man. The hidden Word within us [where the kingdom is in this life, lu 17:21] knows the things that please Yahweh and the things that don’t; the very purpose of the Holy Spirit is to help us overcome the evil that tries to invade our spiritual life. If you examine Psalms 119:1-8 above, you will see the answer to how one cleanses his ways, which he says is by taking heed according to God’s Word. Now, This simple Psalm lays out the step by step guide to find your perfect way in fellowship with Yeshua who “lives” within you. It is His Word, He is the Word of God hidden in you, and like savings you have laid up in your bank account, you can draw upon it [His wisdom and counsel] and find the unending treasure of kingdom life… which you walk in the “natural” man now, but will become a new creation body spiritual being, just like Yeshua, when you pass from the natural into the eternal person that Yahweh designed for you and I to experience at the end of our natural life. Why is it that the “natural” man does not understand the things of God? Paul writes, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 cor 2:14 nkjv Here we can see the “natural” man who has no born again spirit… lost in the darkness of this world. On our journey through life, the mysterious Kingdom of God is a real place, not of this world, but within us… Yeshua said so. It is simply the way Yahweh decide it would be. When you have the Word of God hidden in your heart and mind, there is a continual cleansing process that works alongside the righteousness Yeshua’s redemption encapsulates you in… But what about those who reject the truth and offer of Yeshua’s making them righteous… by faith in Him, and they choose to disregard the Word’s eternal authority? “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.” 1Cor 6:9-11 nkjv I think some of the most important words of Paul’s writing are the words, “and such were some of you…” It really does make a difference that word, “were.” We believers who are “natural” sojourners in this life must always give thanks for the “spiritual” life Yeshua has afforded us in His Name! We are all born into this world a natural being, our becoming a spiritual resident in the Kingdom of Yahweh is only possible if we let Yeshua pay our way. Shalom, John |
