“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." Rom 8:14 nkjv |
September 16, 2025 Who is “leading” you? Do you believe you are being “led?”Whether you know it or not… you ARE following someone. It could be you have simply decided to go onto autopilot and do as you feel or want, perhaps you even have a planned walk, and could care less about anyone or anything else (I know people like that). Many do not realize they either follow their flesh (worldly ways), influence from subtle powers they are not aware of, or hopefully, they have come to know Yeshua [Jesus] and have decided to follow Him… we are to “walk in the spirit, not after the flesh.” I hope you will give careful thought to these words of the Apostle Paul… “For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” rom 8:3-5 nkjv [bold emphasis mine] Why is the “law” [of Yahweh] weak because of our flesh? His Torah [law] is His righteous instructions for mankind, because He loves us. Paul points out it is about setting our mind on fleshly doings [sin and death], or choosing to walk in the Spirit, that meaning to believe and do what the Torah instructs us. To think like the Torah reads. The Scripture tells us to be renewed in the “spirit of our minds.” The Torah is the truth and the Holy Spirit is the architect who renews our broken thinking, repairing it with the Torah. “...that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” eph 4:22-24 nkjv When I read the news and observe what is going on all around the world, and I see the chaos the masses of people exhibit, it reminds me of an end-times Scripture that Yeshua spoke of; it is in this set of verses: “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” luk 21:25-26 nkjv Luke chapter 21, Matthew chapter 24, and Mark chapter 13, are companion teachings, by three different writers, that tell of the problems and complexities that humanity will face in the closing years of time that Yahweh has allotted to mankind to live and “run” the earth’s affairs. And because Yeshua has informed us that satan is the “god of this world,” until He [Yeshua] returns to cleanse the earth and deliver the saints from this cauldron of confusion, which is essentially the meaning of the name Babylon… which is also spoken of as playing a destructive role in the affairs of men in the end-times. I don’t want to waste time/space in this short devotional to list the great number of vile and evil reports that the many news sites have reported this past week… there are dozens of them [world wide events] and they are so destructive and wicked, that when I read them, I think of the Scripture that defines the “days of Noah,” and the evil of Sodom and Gomorrah. Here is the point, all these wicked and evil people are part of the masses of humanity that Yeshua described as the, “distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth,” and I think the term “perplexity” is what we are seeing. His using the metaphor “sea and waves roaring,” is upheaval in humanity. So many news reports include comments that define our society as out of control, divided, conflicted and abusive. So then, what or who is leading them… to what end? Personally, I don’t think we will see improvements or solutions that rectify these issues. Too many injustices, hedonism, and so much corruption has, I think, passed the point of no return. I think It will be very turbulent and downhill in the coming days. I believe Yahweh is allowing these things as part of the “hammer” to bring men to their knees in repentance… as part of a last chance warning to bring people out of their “blindness” to the sick and disastrous, sinful, and deplorable spiritual condition they have become. And Yeshua said, “And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” mat 24:12 nkjv Here, the meaning of “lawlessness” means no respect or concern for Yahweh’s Law… Torahlessness, to be exact. What could possibly go wrong with that…? It is notable that when you read the Book of Mark, in its very beginning, you will notice that when John the Baptist and Yeshua both began their earthly ministries, they both started out calling men to repentance, as did Peter on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came upon those in the temple and tongues of fire fell upon them… the people realizing their error of failing to see the coming Savior and having killed Him asked, “what shall we do,” and Peter said repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of sins… The first and foremost message of Yeshua was repent. Repentance is a “heart” thing, it is a confession of sin and failure in sight of a Holy God. It is changing who and what you follow… a different master will be leading you… We now approach the fall holy days which have considerable emphasis upon heart and mind cleansing and preparing for the day of Atonement. I hope you will take a serious look around and recognize the tragic state of our society and ask yourself… am I being dragged along in this flood of selfish and corrupt activity that has been gaslighting us? As in Noah’s day, their society foolishly ignored Noah’s call to repentance for over a hundred years… they perished. Let us focus our attention on the late hour we live in and take seriously the reality of the soon return of King Yeshua… after His return, it will be too late to find salvation in His offer that you have let slip by until tomorrow. Remember this: “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” rom 10:8-13 nkjv Shalom, John |
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” rom 12:1-2 nkjv |
